Greetings to All Cursillistas and Friends -

Please join us for the May Ultreya, the Month of Our Lady!

Who:  All Cursillistas and Spouses

What: ULTREYA - Prayer, Song, Snacks, Food, Witness Talk, Reflections, Spiritual Guidance, more Songs, Fellowship and Eucharistic Adoration.

When: Sunday May 19, 2:30

Where: St. Thomas More Student Parish, 412 Monroe Street,  Kalamazoo MI

Why?: To grow in Piety, Study, Apostolic Action and Faith as we move closer to God on our journey through life. Live your Faith, don't just practice it!

As always, feel free to bring a sweet or savory treat to share.

News About Coming Weekends

It's not too early to get signed up for Women's #72

The team is preparing now for the October 17-20th  weekend for women.   Some applications are in hand and we are expecting many more in the coming months.  It won't hurt to talk with your candidate and get them signed up now to reserve their spot on the weekend.



Upcoming English Weekend

Women's #72 weekend - October 17-20, 2019

All weekends begin at approximately 6:30 PM on Thursday, and end by 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Candidate applications are welcomed at any time.  Reserve your spot on the weekend by submitting an application.  We are very close to filling to capacity on our weekends in Kalamazoo.

Where are Weekends Held?

The Amigo Retreat Centre- 6 miles north of Sturgis, Michigan, located on a beautiful serene lake, great accommodations, meeting room, good food, coffee and snacks at all times, Mass every day, meditations, songs, and speakers of both laypersons and clergy.  Most of all, it will be a very relaxing and fun weekend.  Just sit back and enjoy, with some social time and a good nights rest in very nice rooms, (w/showers and bathrooms for each).

When packing, just bring along some comfortable clothes and personal items.  No book or deck of cards needed, and just dress casual-Come as You Are.  Want to wear P.J.'s all day-fine.  Want to wear your bunny slippers-sure.  There is no dress code, but you must dress.

Also, bring your funniest jokes for the joke time to share if you want.

How to Group

  Cursillistas use The Order of Group Reunion as an outline for their weekly conversations. These conversations touch on the practices and activities of God on us, and us on God. As such, the Order is simply a series of questions that act as a guide. Mature Cursillistas may skip the outline entirely, because their sharing in a less structured format covers all the bases anyway. Use the questions that work for you, but don’t shun the “hard” ones. “Put everything to the test. Accept what is good.”   

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Opening Prayer Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in us the fire of Your love. Send forth Your spirit and we shall be created And You shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray: O God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by that same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in Your consolations, through Christ our Lord. Amen 


  Piety With what spiritual aids have I nourished my vital union with Christ this week? What was the moment in which I felt closest to Christ? Was there a time when I felt far away from Christ? When was that, and what was the cause?   


  Study What have I read or observed in my environment to enrich my relationship with God? What have I done to understand better the gift of God?   


  Action What have I done to share the Christ-life in me with others? Were there times that I held back and missed the opportunity to share it? What apostolic success did the Lord accomplish through me in my family, my work, and my environment?   


  Plan What is my plan for the coming week? What will I do in the next 48 hours to bring this about? Closing Prayer We give You thanks, Almighty God, for all the benefits You have given us. You Who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. Close with an Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, lifting in prayer all who are present, and all who could not be present. Pray for each other during the week that we will have the strength to continue the journey as we bring others to Christ.
